5 Of The Best Blogs/Websites To Follow As A New Mom

*This post may contain links that I am not affiliated with in any form and were simply included for educational purposes only.

As a brand new mom, the amount of questions you have can feel endless. Every new coo, cough, or sneeze might send you into a Google frenzy looking for answers as to what is normal. During those early weeks of newborn delirium when my daughter needed to nurse every 3-4 hours, I would sit and Google whatever new question I had. Throughout my research, and still to this day, I have blogs/websites by moms or leaders in the “mommy blog” industry that I go to whenever I need help. They give great advice and will guide you along your new motherhood journey.

Mother.ly

First up, is Mother.ly. Mother.ly is a great all-around website for advice on anything related to motherhood. Their main goal is to help every woman thrive in motherhood in a judgment-free, woman-centered place. My favorite part about their website is the inspirational articles written by other mothers. Here is a link to an article about another mother who, like myself, experienced postpartum anxiety.

TheEveryMom.com

The Every Mom is a great website for mothers at any stage of their journey. Their website has many different contributors, and they are a great place to find product recommendations. Also, they have advice surrounding current events and holidays, and the impact they have on parenthood and family life. This link connects to an article with product recommendations for essential items moms need early on postpartum.

BabyCenter.com

BabyCenter is a giant digital resource that I turn to again and again. From the beginning of my pregnancy, I used their app to track how my baby was developing each week. Once my baby arrived, I continued to use their app. I still remember watching a video on their app on how to bathe a newborn for the first time. While the app is fantastic, it doesn’t stop there. They have an amazing website, as well as online communities. The online communities connect you with other families in your child’s birth month/year to ask questions to and share experiences with. Currently, I am signed up for their emails. Each week, I receive personalized articles pertaining to my daughter’s present growth and developmental needs. I cannot say enough good things about Baby Center. If you would like to know more, you can check out what they’re about here.

Baby Chick has a wealth of resources for new and expectant mothers during their pregnancy and continuing throughout parenthood. Their website includes product recommendations, thousands of helpful articles, as well as a podcast to listen to while “on-the-go.” The website is run by a husband and wife team who are committed to helping mothers live healthy, happy lives. Here is a link to a fantastic article discussing postpartum anxiety. I love the title, too: “I’m Not Depressed, I’m Afraid.” I could so relate to that when I was walking through PPA.

LiveBeautifully.com

I couldn’t end this post without sharing this amazing website. Live Beautifully is a lifestyle blog by Katrina Scott. Katrina is one of the founders of Tone It Up, a health and fitness brand I have followed for years. If it wasn’t for Katrina sharing her personal struggle with postpartum anxiety on her Instagram page after having her first daughter, I may never have found the answers to what I was going through. While her website isn’t solely about motherhood, you will find articles and product recommendations that will help you as a mother. She has also been very open about her journey through infertility and IVF, which may be helpful to you. This link will take you directly to the “Mom Life” section of her site. Her goal is to help you live beautifully, and her website is gorgeous! Do yourself a favor and check it out!

As you can see from these awesome blogs/websites, there are amazing resources out there for you as a new or “seasoned” mom. I also made sure to link articles that talk specifically about postpartum anxiety. If you have spent any time on my blog, you may know by now that this was something I had a major struggle with, but it took awhile to diagnose. Bringing awareness to this disorder and sharing my story is the inspiration behind this blog in hopes that other mothers would not feel alone in their struggle.

I hope the resources in this post will help you along your journey of motherhood, as they continually do for me. Already following one of these sites, or have a blog/website you love as a mom? Let me know in the comments!

Sincerely,

Rachael Megan
